Use of flea in pipettes
Fleet-& amp; fleas in pipette are most often applied in the neck / between the shoulder blades so that your dog or cat cannot lick the product off. The product usually works within 12-48 hours. Be aware to purchase a product specifically intended for dogs or cats, with the correct weight class, so that your pet is properly covered. This text is for guidance, you should always read the package leaflet and follow the instructions for the product.

Advantage vet. Cutaneous solution for dogs and cats (imidacloprid)

Indication:For the prevention and treatment of fleas in dogs and cats and for the treatment of fur lice (Trichodectes canis) in dogs. Fleas on dogs die within 1 day of treatment. One treatment prevents further flea infestations for 4 weeks on dogs and 3-4 weeks on cats.

The veterinary medicinal product may be used as part of the treatment strategy for the control of flea-related allergic dermatitis where the diagnosis is made by the veterinarian.

Contraindications: Breeding puppies and kittens under 8 weeks of age are not treated. Do not use in animals with known hypersensitivity to imidacloprid or any of the excipients.

Warnings and precautions: For external use. Do not administer orally. Avoid contact of the pipette contents with eyes or mouth on the animal. Do not allow recently treated animals to lick each other. Wash your hands thoroughly after treatment of animals. In case of spillage on the skin wash with soap and water. People with known hypersensitivity to imidacloprid and benzyl alcohol should be avoided contact with the veterinary medicinal product. Avoid contact with the veterinary medicinal product by skin, eyes or mouth. Do not eat, drink or smoke during application.

If the veterinary medicinal product comes into contact, rinse thoroughly with water.

If skin or eye irritation persists or if the veterinary medicinal product is accidentally swallowed, seek medical advice immediately and show the package leaflet or the label to the physician.

The preparation is harmful to aquatic organisms and treated animals should not come into contact with surface water during the first 48 hours after treatment.

Other precautions:The solvent in Advantage vet. may cause stains on certain materials such as plastics, leather, textiles and treated surfaces. Therefore, allow the liquid to dry before allowing contact with these materials. Read the package leaflet for further information.

Adverse reactions:

Dogs:

Very rare: Agitation (hyperactivity). Hypersalivering1 (increased salivation)

Disorientation (confusion), neurological signs (e.g. depression), ataxia, tremor). Application site reaction (e.g. hair loss, itching, skin redness, skin lesions).

1May occur due to the bitter taste if the dog licks at the application site immediately after treatment. This is not a sign of poisoning and disappears within a few minutes without treatment.

Cats:

Very rare: Agitation (hyperactivity). Diarré1, Hypersalication (increased salivation) 2, Vomiting 1. Neurological signs (e.g. depression (lethargy), ataxia, tremor). Application site reaction (e.g. hair loss, itching, skin redness, skin lesions).

Pregnancy and lactation: No birth defects, teratogenic harm associated with pregnancy have been observed in studies with imidacloprid in rats and rabbits. Studies on pregnant and lactating bitches and their offspring are limited. So far, there is no evidence that side effects can be expected in these animals.

Dosage dog: Less than 4 kg: 1 pipette of 0,4 ml; 4 - 10 kg: 1 pipette of 1,0 ml; 10 - 25 kg: 1 pipette of 2,5 ml; 25 - 40 kg: 1 pipette of 4.0 ml; over 40 kg: 2 pipettes of 4.0 ml. Reinflow of new fleas from an environment may continue for 6 weeks or longer after starting treatment. For fur lice, a veterinary check is recommended after 30 days, as some animals require a second treatment.

Dosage Cat: Less than 4 kg: 1 pipette of 0,4 ml; 4 kg or more: 1 pipette of 0,8 ml. Reinflow of new fleas from an environment may continue for 6 weeks or longer after starting treatment. Therefore, more than one treatment may be necessary if the number of fleas in the environment is high.

Pack sizes:Advantage ® vet. packs of 4 pipettes. For dogs 0.4 ml - 1.0 ml - 2.5 ml - 4.0 ml. For cat 0,4 ml - 0,8 ml.
