The unique mixture of essential oils from Pet Remedy acts soothing on pets with anxiety and stress.
The oils work by increasing the production of a natural substance produced in the brain of pets called GABA (gamma-aminobutanoic acid). Too low values of GABA inhibit the transmission of electrical impulses between nerve cells which can lead to stress and anxiety. Pet Remedy products are a less concentrated baldrian based mixture of oils that are very gentle in its effect on metabolism in any mammals, reptiles or bird.

The following ingredients are present in the ph-neutral products:
Valerian originates from the root of the Valerian plant, Valeriana officinalis. For many thousands of years, it has been used as a natural remedy against insomnia, convulsions, migraine, arthritis, nervous disorders and even stunning. Today, baldrian is an approved herbal medicine for anxiety and difficulty sleeping. The Danish Medicines Agency has reviewed the European and American literature on the plant and gave the green light to the effect that the product has an effect against mild symptoms of anxiety and difficulty sleeping for which no doctor would normally be sought.

Vetiver (Chrysopogon zizanioides) is a hard, aromatic grass and the essential oil is extracted by steam distillation of the roots of this grass, which belongs to the same botanical family as lemon grass, citronella and palmarosa. This plant has been appreciated for its soothing properties since the first registrations. It is extracted from the washed, chopped, dried and soaked roots and root by steam distillation. The aroma is very terrestrial. The main chemical components are benzoic acid, vetiverol, furfurol, a and b-vetivone, vetivene and vetivenylvetivenate. Vetiver gets back from Haiti and Java.
Sweet basil (Ocimum basilicum) is an aromatic herb with lush green leaves. The essential oil is extracted by steam distillation of the leaves. Sweet basil-essential oil has various chemical compounds that include the a- pinine, camphen, b-pine, myrcene, limonene, cis- cimene, camphor, linalool, methylchavicol, y-terpineol, citronellol, geraniol, methylcinnamate and eugenol. It is often used in aromatherapy for its soothing effect. Sweet Basil is brought home from Europe and Egypt.
Clary Sage (Salvia Sclaria) is a two-year herb that is located around the Mediterranean and parts of Europe. Clary Sage oil is extracted by steam distillation of buds and leaves from the Clary Sage plant. Known chemical compounds present in Clary Sage essential oil include esters, sesquiterpenes, diterpenes and monoterpenes. Clary Sage essential oil is brought home from France.
