The substance is water-repellent because it has a coating on the inside that ensures that the water cannot penetrate. The substance is made from the 100% synthetic Olefin material, which cannot be ground by moisture. Therefore you can safely leave the dog bed out - even if it rains. We would recommend that you put it under half roof at heavy rain, as water can penetrate the seams - and we all know that a wet pillow is not as delicious to lie in.
