The bottom layer plays an important role in the aquarium ecosystem, as many fish and other animals dig and seek food in the ground. Sansibar White is a fine white bottom layer suitable for both freshwater and saltwater aquariums and terrariums.

The fine grain size provides optimal hold for plant roots, prevents mold and waste from sinking deep into the bottom and thus promotes a healthy and stable environment. The rounded granite sand is gentle against sensitive fish, especially ground-living species with delicate barts.

The base releases no undesirable substances into the water and is therefore safe for fish, plants and invertebrates.

Application:
Rinse the bottom layer thoroughly under running water to remove dust and transport residues
Place the bottom layer on top of the nutrient substrate (e.g. JBL AquaBasis)
For strong plant growth a layer of 6-8 cm is recommended
Important

Not suitable for use with bottom heating cables as very fine bottom layer inhibits water circulation
Bottom heating is recommended only for medium or coarse bottom
