That's how it works.
Once attached around the neck, the collar will release active substances as soon as it comes into contact with the skin and fur of the dog and cat. The active substances are distributed via the skin fat layer from head to tail and continue to be transferred in low doses for up to 8 months.
Seresto vet. kills fleas and rejects ticks and sandflies before they suck blood. It protects against the transmission of certain (especially tick-borne) diseases.

Seresto vet. tolerates water, so the outdoor cat is protected regardless of weather, and the dog can jump a walk into the sea without the collar losing its effect.
The neckline has two safety mechanisms that release or break the collar if the dog or cat is stuck in a branch, for example.

Seresto Vet. 4.50 g / 2.03 g medicated collar for dogs & gt; 8 kg (imidacloprid and flumethrin).

Indications:

For cats with or at risk of mixed infestation of fleas and ticks. For dogs with or at risk of mixed infestation of fleas or lice, and ticks or sandflies. The veterinary medicinal product should only be used when concomitant use is required against the parasites targeted by each active substance. For the treatment and prevention of flea infestations in dogs and cats for 7-8 months. Protects the animal from developing flea larvae for 10 weeks in cats and 8 months in dogs. The veterinary medicinal product may be used as part of the treatment strategy for flea allergy-related skin inflammation, where this has previously been diagnosed by a veterinarian.

Prevention of re-infection with ticks through acaricide (killing) action and repelling (preventing blood-sucking) action from 2 days to 8 months in dogs and cats. The veterinary medicinal product is effective against larvae, nymphs and adult ticks. Reduces the risk of transmission of Babesia canis voveli and Ehrlichia canis, thereby reducing the risk of babesiosis and ehrlichiosis in dogs for 7 months through acaricide and repelling effects on the tick Rhipicephalus sanguineus. Reduces the risk of transmission of Leishmania infantum for up to 8 months and thus reduces the risk of leishmaniosis in dogs through a repelling effect on sandflies. Treatment of infestation of biting lice in dogs.

Contraindications: Do not use in kittens under 10 weeks and puppies under 7 weeks of age. Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to the active substances or to any of the excipients.

Warnings and precautions: it is recommended to remove any ticks when the collar is applied, as these may not be killed within 48 hours. The prevention of new tick attacks begins within 2 days of application of the collar. Fleets are killed and fall off the host within 24-48 hours of attack and usually without sucking blood. Attacks of individual ticks after treatment cannot be excluded. For this reason, the transmission of infectious diseases via ticks cannot be completely excluded if conditions are unfavourable. Seasonal felling may lead to a transient minor reduction of efficacy due to loss of active substance bound in the coat. New distribution from the collar occurs immediately, so full effect will be restored without further treatment or change of the collar. The product is water resistant and works even if the animal becomes wet. However, the animal should not be exposed to excessive amounts of water for long periods of time or frequent washing with shampoos, as this may result in a reduction in the duration of action. Small children must not play with the collar or put it in their mouth. Pets carrying the collar should not sleep with their owners, especially children. Imidacloprid and flumethrin shall be continuously released from the collar to the skin and fur as long as the collar is worn. The neck band may trigger hypersensitivity reactions in certain individuals. In very rare cases, the neck band can cause irritation to the skin, eyes and respiratory tract. In case of eye irritation, rinse thoroughly with cold water. In case of skin irritation wash the skin with cold water and soap. If symptoms persist, seek medical advice and show your doctor the package leaflet or the package leaflet. Dispose of any residue or cut off parts of the collar immediately. Wash hands with cold water after attaching the collar.

Adverse reactions:In animals that are not used to wearing collar, behavioural changes such as hiding, vocalization, hyperactivity, excessive licking and / or fur care and scratching around the collar may occur in rare cases in the first days after the collar is attached. In very rare cases, aggression has occurred after the collar has been attached. Check that the collar is correct. Itching, skin redness and hair loss around the collar can occur. This is rare in dogs and uncommon in cats. In isolated cases, it may be advisable to temporarily remove the collar until the symptoms have resolved. In very rare cases in dogs and in cats, reactions such as skin inflammation, inflammation, eczema, skin lesions or bleeding around the collar may occur and it is recommended that the collar be removed. In rare cases, neurological symptoms such as ataxia, convulsions and tremors may occur in dogs and it is recommended that the collar be removed. In dogs and cats, mild and transient reactions such as depression, altered eating patterns, drooling, vomiting and diarrhoea can be observed at the start. In sensitive animals contact eczema may occur.

Pregnancy and lactation: The safety of the veterinary medicinal product during pregnancy and lactation has not been established in dogs and cats. Therefore, use in pregnant or lactating females and bitches is not recommended.

Interactions: No known.

Posology: Cats and small dogs up to 8 kg body weight need a collar of 38 cm. Dogs over 8 kg need a collar of 70 cm. One collar per animal is attached around the neck. For external use only.
