Lilaeopsis brasiliensis is a low-growing bottom plant from South America that can form a dense green carpet in the aquarium. To achieve the classic "low-effect" the plant must have good light and be completely free without shadow from larger plants. When planting out, the pot is divided into small tubs, which are placed at a little distance so that they quickly grow together. The plant thrives in common freshwater aquariums, but can also be used in garden ponds or in light brackish water.
