The ground-covering Lilaeopsis brasiliensis from South America can thrive with relatively low light intensity and form a nice bottom cover. However, a real "lawn effect" is achieved only at high light intensities. The height varies between 4 and 7 cm. When planting into the aquarium, small lumps should be placed at a distance of a few centimeters, as the planting thus grows more quickly.

However, it should be planted in an open space without shadow from other plants, so that the light can reach the plant. Lilaeopsis brasiliensis can be used in the garden frame and also tolerate the low saline concentrations in a brackish water aquarium.
